The Mini Atelier will include:
Features Class: an opportunity for intense study of the eyes, nose and mouth. Students work from a combination of photographs and copying the Masters.
Artists Anatomy Class: Develop a greater understanding of the structure of the body; skeletal properties, muscle origin and insertion, and the overlay of skin. Mentoring Workshop: Students work from their own photo reference. An opportunity for the continuing student to have Baumgaertner oversee the creation of their portrait. 8 student limit
7-Day Oil Portrait Workshop: Open to all levels. Students paint one model in the morning and a second model in the afternoon. There are two, four-hour portrait demonstrations and a five-hour marketing round table discussion. Please note that this workshop extends over eight days. 15 student limit
4-Day Charcoal Workshop: Students create four charcoal drawings and have an opportunity to work in the sauce medium. All material for the class is provided. 15 student limit
12-Day Oil Portrait Workshop: The first seven days of curriculum mirror the 7-Day Oil Portrait Workshop. During the second five days, the students will paint one oil portrait per day. 15 student limit
12-Day Advanced Workshop: The student will paint two long pose head and shoulder models, one in the morning and another in the afternoon. This session affords the student enough time to take a painting from beginning to end. 13 student limit
Baumgaertner Portrait Atelier: Allows the student to have a continous education starting with the 4-Day Charcoal Class, 12-Day Oil Portrait Workshop and ending with the 12-Day Advanced Workshop. The student will complete a total of nine portraits and have the opportunity to study with Sculptor Mike Martino.
